H.265, or High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), is also a video compression codec, a successor of AVC/ H264, and known as MPEG-H part 2. This encoder provides encoding support to Ultra HD Blu-ray format.

In short, the H.265 standard is based on H.264, with some technical improvements. When using H.265 encoding, computers, cell phones, tablets, TVs, including our surveillance industry, can save more bandwidth and capacity on the basis of the same video quality.
